Kobe Bryant didn’t start his career with Nike but surely finished it with the Swoosh brand. Kobe officially started his journey with Nike in 2003 after being a sneaker-free agent for about a year. After wearing different Nike shoes, Kobe Bryant received his first signature sneaker in 2005. With time, technology and materials advanced on the Kobe line, extending to lifestyle models. While different colors, along with high and low-top models, are usually released. After Kobe’s retirement, some new models were released, but eventually, the line was discontinued. In 2020, Kobe and his daughter, Gigi Bryant, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash. His wife, Vanessa Bryant, signed a new deal with Nike, ensuring all his fans receive a retro, aka Protro, rendition of his signature shoes.
